The AK Mission has wrapped up…21 days calling Haines our home…chillin with Phil at the Beach Road House; flying with Herk, Johnny, Brett and Tiege through the Chilkat Mountains; shredding with Nicolas, Jussi, Jeremy and Freddie; shooting with Brad and Jaakko…the trip dreams are made of.

Madness has set in. With no snow in Calgary we said goodbye to MFR, Bjorn, Yan and Lazz, pointed the van east, and hauled ass across the Great Plains of Canada. The drive was a mission to say the least. In order to stay on schedule, we drove the van non-stop over night, and all of the next day to make it to Winnipeg. Driving this way is crazy. You end up listening to the playlists of whoever is driving, you eat and drink a lot of weird gas station food, and you tend to zombie out.
Kale doesn’t answer his phone very well anymore. In general, he hasn’t been so hot at keeping in touch these days, hence the lack in Kale content. Don’t worry, we’re working on it. Today I’ve had to resort to digging up old photos to please the Kale fans out there. This one goes back half dozen years ago or so. If you have a weak stomach I’m sorry about the photo above. That shot was taken by our long time buddy Luke a couple hours after Kale chopped his nose off in a freak snowmobile accident. I still can’t believe how calm he looks in the photo or that he even thought to get Luke to go to the corner store and pick up a disposable camera to document the whole thing. Kale’s definitely cut from a different cloth..
