Blotto in Switzerland: DAY 3 – St Moritz
Let’s start by saying day three was good ! Nicolas, Frederik, Brad and I left Silvaplana around 9AM without a cloud in the sky. Our destination was the Signalbahn Tram Station in St. Moritz. Once in the parking lot, our terrain guide Gummi showed up enthusiastic to deliver us the goods, promising a fine day’s ride around Switzerland’s premier ski resort.
St. Moritz is nestled in the Engadin Valley, with a base elevation of 1750 meters, while the top station peaks out at 3303. A vast network of trams and high-speed quads will keep you busy the entire day, with the possibility of riding a new trail every time you unload off the chairlift. Another high point of this resort is the stunning panoramic views of the lake and valley below no matter where you are on the hill.
Our journey brought us up the Signalbahn, followed by two more chair rides and a simple traverse to a roller filled area. Once Nicolas and Freddie eyed the zone, they were able to pick out the kicker spot immediately. We made a quick dig plan, then got to work for the next hour preparing the run-in and jump transition.
Once we had the kicker completed and the dig zone cleaned up, Nicolas, Gummi and Frederik did a couple of speed checks and we were good to go. An assortment of maneuvers were thrown down and with the beautiful backdrop we brought home some quality film shots and photos for the new movie.
