Blotto: AZ to AK
Seattle Tacoma Airport 1 After enjoying some quality family time, chowing down Mom’s delicious eats and getting schooled by my 3-year old nephew in ping-pong, it was off to the airport for the beginning of the journey from AZ to AK. Alaska, or the Final Frontier as it’s referred to on occasion; is our annual March slash April destination for documenting The Shred. Jussi, Frederik, Jaakko and I made our way to Juneau via Seattle, only to start... Read More
Blotto: Swiss Finish
We made it into Andermatt, got a spot in Hospental and prepared for the following morning mission. Up on the first tram, connected to the second and we were at the peak peering out into the backcountry. You can go left or right…we chose right…but not after some serious snowpack evaluation since the wind had been hammering most of Switzerland raising the avy danger considerably. Blotto: Saas Departure and a New Location in Switzerland

With an accurate snow report in hand it was time to have a 3-hour discussion of where to go, why, when…phone calls, internet weather checks and a bit of humor brought us into the early afternoon and a new destination…Northern Switzerland. From... Read More
Blotto: More Saas Fee

We sat for the last four days watching the wind pummel the upper alpine regions, stripping away the some-odd four to five feet of fresh. Our dreams of kickers, lines and cliffs slowly diminished in front of our eyes. In the meantime we continued to hop in the automobiles and make our way through the various cities and mountain passes... Read More
Blotto: Saas Fee
After my arrival and a sweet powernap (that only made the jet lag worse), Jussi, Jeremy and Brad landed in Zurich around 5PM. Rental car, food…set the GPS and hit the autobahn, direction Saas Fee. The drive from Zurich to Saas takes 3.5 hours, nothing too crazy. There’s an interesting point along the way where you put your automobile on this train they call the “Kandersteg.” Passenger train for your car…and you…20 minutes later we... Read More
